Varkala Beach, also known as Papanasam beach, distinguishes itself from the other beaches both by its topography and its ambience. What sets it apart is the fascinating stretch of cliffs that are found here. Lying adjacent to the Arabian Sea, the “Varkala Formation,” as its referred to by geologists, has been declared a geological moment by the Geological survey of India.

KOVALAM BEACH
From here you can travel to the famous Kovalam Beach, which is one of the major attractions in Trivandrum. Europeans have been flocking to it ever since the 1930’s, and it’s easy to see why. Its calm waters, created by a rocky promontory on the beach, provides the ideal setting for sea bathing. This beach comes with several leisure options. SHRI PADMANABHASWAMY TEMPLE
Located inside the east fort in Trivandrum, the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple showcases a brilliant mix of Kerala and Dravidian styles of architecture. This magnificent temple is counted amongst one of the 108 sacred Vishnu temples, or, “Divya Desams,” in India. The “garbhagriha,” or the sanctum sanctorum, measures about 18ft long and can be viewed through three different doors.
